All-On-4® Dental Implants
Manufactured by Nobel Biocare™, All-on-4 dental implants enable full-arch dental restoration by offering a way to thoroughly secure dentures in place. All-on-4 implant dentures work by placing metal posts (the dental implants) at strategic points on each arch. Compared to other brands of implanted dentures, All-on-4 creates a more secure fit with fewer posts. Our team of dentists recommends All-on-4 implants to get a beautifully restored smile minus the restrictions or hassle that come with traditional dentures. A lot of MINT patients appreciate the benefits of the cutting-edge All-on-4 procedure, enjoying high-quality results. If you want to get more information on All-on-4 implants and custom dentures, we encourage you to schedule an appointment at our dental office in South Holland, IL.

Am I a Candidate for Dental Implants?
If you are missing one tooth or several, a dental implant by the professionals at MINT dentistry can help you regain your stunning smile. You may be an ideal candidate for an implant-supported crown, bridge, or denture if you already have a traditional restoration but don't like the dietary restrictions, maintenance, or general appearance that come with it. At your consultation at MINT dentistry, our skilled team will examine your jawbone and gums to determine if you're able to receive an implant. You are probably not a candidate for implants if you suffer from gum disease, use tobacco products, or may become pregnant during the implant process.
How Are Dental Implants Placed?
Before moving forward, you'll meet with a MINT dentistry professional in an implant consultation to determine if a bone or gum graft will be necessary to make the implants work. If those procedures are needed, they will be completed beforehand. As soon as you are ready for implants, we will schedule your implant placement surgery. To begin your appointment, your team will lead you back to the procedure room and allow you a chance to start relaxing in a comfortable treatment chair, where you will be given a pair of MINT sunglasses and Beats headphones. Once you are settled in, your anesthesia or sedation will be administered. Then, one of our board-certified oral surgeons will make an incision(s) in your gums and fit the metal post(s) in the bone. We will repeat this process if more than one implant is needed. The gums will then be closed, leaving the top of the implant visible over the top of your gumline. Over the next several months, your post(s) will integrate with your gums and jawbone. During this time, a temporary restoration will be used to hide and protect the post(s). Once you're healed, our South Holland, IL dentists will connect your custom restoration to the implant(s), revealing a gorgeous new smile.
Dental Implant Surgery Aftercare
You will likely experience some swelling in your gums and face, along with possible bruising, discomfort, and bleeding, all of which are normal for dental implant surgery. These symptoms are generally temporary, but if you have concerns or lasting symptoms, please contact us. Your doctor may prescribe antibiotics and/or pain medication along with detailed instructions, like dietary recommendations, to speed your recovery. Once your implant(s) has integrated and your crown, bridge, or denture has been connected, you need to maintain a good dental care routine at home, which includes flossing and brushing every day. We may ask you to schedule follow-up appointments so we can monitor your progress. MINT dentistry highly recommends you continue scheduling annual dental exams and biannual cleanings so that we can help you keep your restorations gorgeous.
The MINT Commitment
Your dental insurance may pay, at least, some of the cost of your implant placement procedure and restoration. A member of our finance team will contact your insurance provider to clarify your coverage and determine your costs. During your consultation with your team, we will discuss which payment methods our office accepts and we can give you information on low-interest financing. MINT dentistry is committed to making sure all South Holland, IL patients have healthy, beautiful smiles. If you don't have insurance, ask a team member about the MINT Discount Plan, which makes it easier to afford regular dental care and restorative treatments.
